A Great Time At Northway

3:31 pm Church Life, One Prayer, Spiritual Formation

I had the privilege to speak at Northway Church on Saturday and Sunday. I always enjoy my time there. They roll out the red carpet and treat you with some incredible Northern hospitality (like southern only better). They are reaching people for Jesus in an area where churches struggle. This was my first visit since they moved their Malta location to Clifton Park and all I can say is Wow! Their facility looks great. They are ready for prime time with their video production and I could see TV ministry in their near future. Their second campus at Colonie is continuing to grow and expand as well.

I wish my bro was in town but his staff stepped up huge. I want to thank the NWay staff of Brian, Dave, Chad, Kevin B., Eva (special thanks to Eva for the Starbucks), and Kevin M. for all there help. You guys are incredible hosts! This was my first experience with the whole Thai and Sushi deal but I will definitely remember it!

I also want to thank my friend Greg Davis for making the trip with me. Road trips deepen and develop friendships. It was really cool to hear more of Greg’s faith journey and passion for ministry. He and Mary have been big-time additions to our Fellowship family. Greg also got me hooked up on Twitter so if any of you like to “tweet” let me know! I’m looking for some Twitter friends.

A huge God thing happened when Greg and I ran into some guys from Life Church.TV at Northway. We got to spend some priceless time with two of the leaders of Life Church, Terry Storch and Chris Beall. Terry is the digerati (no I didn’t spell that wrong) pastor at LC. He is all about leveraging technology to reach people for Jesus (Greg Davis is one of his disciples). He also co-authored a book on blogging and was a big catalyst behind the recent One Prayer series. Chris Beall serves as a regional pastor for LC. He oversees several of the LC campus pastors. The dude has Alec Baldwin (younger) looks (no, I don’t have a man crush…ok just a small one) and Solomon type wisdom. You can tell that Craig Groeshel is one of his mentors. Two really cool guys that hung out with us until close to 11:00 Saturday night.

Finally, I just want to thank God for the incredible outpouring of your Spirit on all three services. I have never really been part of so many people responding to God’s calling. I will be praying for them this week and looking forward to God doing great things in their lives.

    Whats up John,
Terry and I totally enjoyed hanging out with you guys Saturday Night. I was a little embarrassed by the amount of sushi that came with my order not to mention that it was served on a “boat.” John, i absolutely loved hanging with you guys and am expectant to continue to hear about all the lives that will be transformed by the power of Christ there at fellowship.

    Chris
